Inspiring a new generation of designers

Hello! I'm Katie. I teach sewing workshops and run parties that aim to inspire a new generation of designers.

It started a really long time ago... when I used to sew little fairy clothes out of felt in a small crawl space we called the "cubby hole" as kids. Carefully stitched seams and decorated with small beads and sequins, we'd leave them out for the fairies to wear when they visited at night.

Let's just say that I've come a long way from sewing tiny jackets and pixie hats!

Always inspired by creating things by hand, I picked up a sewing machine in uni during my arts degree and haven't looked back since.

Quite a few coincidences led me to turning my hobby into a part-time job teaching sewing classes and workshops in South London where I quickly saw that young girls are dying to learn how to sew and make their own clothes and accessories.

A few years later the Sewcial Circle was born over coffee and cake (like all good things?) on a dreary, rainy afternoon.

I'm a one-woman band cycling around London teaching sewing, dressmaking and craft to the next generation.

I teach private sewing tuition on weekends, run workshops and also get crafty at hen parties all over the city.

It's time to pull those machines out of the closets, dust them off and oil them up. There's a new generation of designers just waiting to bring their ideas to life!

Get in touch!

I do love a good natter about sewing and crafts, events and new ideas.

There are few things I enjoy more than sewing on rainy afternoons and cycling around London on sunny ones.
